KEY ID FEATURES

Small-to-medium fruitbodies growing amongst the moss and other forest floor debris.
Various tans, orange-browns or brownish-reds in overall color. Gills whitish.
Veil remnants (granules) covering the cap (especially edge) and mid-to-lower stipe. Whitish-to-orange in color. Can be quite pronounced.
Fruitbody can have an overall dry or "powdery" appearance.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Can be mistaken for a member of genus Lepiota.
