- NOTES: Caps up to 15 cm across, orangish, some with greenish stains, scabers dark, black. Pores dark grayish when young, pale grayish-to-whitish with pinkish stains in age. Flesh whitish, staining pinkish then darker, lilac-to-dark gray when scraped, pinkish-to-pale gray when not. Teal blue in flesh at stipe base, at least outer portions, dark teal blue on stipe base (ext). No odor, taste mild. On the ground under birch.
