KEY ID FEATURES
- Growing with conifers, extremely similar to Amanita muscaria.
- Medium-to-large fruitbodies. Whitish flesh often with yellow highlights.
- Cap yellow, creamy-yellow, light metallic yellow almost to a pale copper. Margin striate.
- White-to-yellowish "warts" (universal veil remnants) frequently present on cap.
- Gills white to creamy, adnexed to free. Can be crowded.
- Stem often with partial veil remnants (skirt). Bulbous "cup" or vulva at stem base (normally undeground).
